Welcome to the debut release of Gil*Galad. Welcome to Quenta Silmarillion.

Gil*Galad was formed in 2010 by Mike O'Brien (Melankolia) and Marc Hoyland (Hoyland) due to their appreciation and love for the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. Upon many an eve Mike and Marc would discuss the writings of Middle Earth and a concept for a musical project to pay homage to this mysterious and enchanted world and it's history.

It wasn't long befor the first strains of music would be brought to life and the project to be truly born. Over the space of 4 years Quenta Silmarillion would take form to what you are able to listen to now. Inspired in particular by The Silmarillion and the early years of Middle
Earth. However the release would become massively delayed by personal circumstances in both Mike and Marc's lives that the project entered a 3 year haitus. However the spark of life and inspiration in something we have such passion and admiration for never truely dies.
